Out of Body Experience: Kate Davis & Abi Palmer
Presented by Penned in the Margins, this event introduces two vital new voices in British poetry whose work reflects on disability, place and the body.
Abi Palmer’s forthcoming debut Sanatorium (Penned in the Margins, 2020) moves between contrasting spaces – bathtub to thermal pool, land to water, day to night – in its exploration of the female disabled body.
Cumbrian poet Kate Davis’s first collection, The Girl Who Forgets How to Walk (Penned in the Margins, 2018), tells the story of a young girl with polio who struggles to find her feet – and her voice – in an unforgiving landscape where ‘the ground cannot be trusted’.
